The day I was born in Cap-Haitian, Haiti, my cord was not cut, neither was I washed with water to clean me; I was not salted at all, nor wrapped in large strips of cloth.
No eye pitied me, to do any of these unto me, to have compassion upon me; Instead, I was cast out in the open field.
And when the Lord passed by me, and saw me polluted in my own blood, he said unto me Live.
He have caused me to multiply as the plant of the field, and I have increased and waxen great, and I art come to excellent ornaments: my breasts are fashioned, and my hair is grown. Now I am his and he is mine.
